Max Boot

Max Boot (12 September 1969-) was an American consultant and CNN political commentator.

Biography[]

Max Boot was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union in 1969 to a Jewish family, and his family emigrated to Los Angeles in 1976. He became a writer for The Daily Californian newspaper at UC Berkeley, and he claimed to be the only conservative author in the paper's history. He went on to become a writer and editor for the Christian Science Monitor and The Wall Street Journal during the 1990s, and he served as a foreign policy advisor to 2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain. During the 2016 presidential election, he became highly critical of the Republican Party and endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton, and, in 2018, he published his book The Corrosion of Conservatism: Why I Left the Right.
