
Matthew Talbot (1767-17 September 1827) was the Democratic-Republican Governor of Georgia from 24 October to 5 November 1819, succeeding William Rabun and preceding John Clark.
Biography[]
Matthew Talbot was born in Bedford, Virginia in 1767, and he was raised in Wilkes County, Georgia. He served as a state legislator before serving in the State Senate from 1808 to 1823 and as acting Governor in 1819 following the death of Governor William Rabun. He died in 1827.
