Matthew Parker (1833) was an United States Cavalry Officer who was active during the Plains Indian Wars,Apache Wars, and during the Wild West era. Matthew Parker served as a Colonel in Union General John Buford's Cavalry during te American Civil War until Buford's death near the end of 1863. Parker as eventually transferred to the 3rd Cavalry Division under the command of General George Armstrong Custer until the end of the war.
