Matthew Bevilaqua (1976-April 2000) was an associate of the DiMeo crime family and the partner-in-crime of Sean Gismonte. In 2000, he was executed by Tony Soprano for attempting to assassinate his nephew Christopher Moltisanti.
Biography[]
Matthew Bevilaqua was born in New Jersey in 1976 to a family of Italian descent, and Bevilaqua and Sean Gismonte became associates of Christopher Moltisanti in Paulie Gualtieri's crew of the DiMeo crime family. The three of them were involved with a "pump and dump" of stocks in the website Webistics, Junior Soprano's executive card game, and some burglary jobs. Bevilaqua and Gismonte angered boss Tony Soprano by candidly talking about criminal activities, wasting their chances at quickly becoming made men. They decided to impress Richie Aprile by killing their former friend Moltisanti, his rival.
Death[]

Bevilaqua after being shot
Bevilaqua drove a sedan into the parking lot of the Skyway Diner under the Pulaski Skyway in Kearny, where Moltisanti was eating. As Moltisanti left the diner, Gismonte fired several shots at him, wounding him. He then left the car and started running while shooting at Moltisanti; Gismonte was shot dead by Moltisanti while struggling with the passenger seat's seatbelt. Bevilaqua was later kidnapped by Soprano and Paulie Gualtieri, Salvatore Bonpensiero, who took him to a warehouse and tied him to a chair. Bevilaqua assured the two men that Gismonte was the one responsible for Moltisanti being injured, and Soprano, pretending to believe Bevilaqua, had Bonpensiero bring Bevilaqua a can of diet soda. After Soprano asked Bevilaqua if he liked the drink, he informed him that it would be the last drink that he ever tasted, and the two men proceeded to shoot him several times with handguns, killing him.
