Matteo Fosco (born 1431) was a Florentine thief and the partner of Odetta Gallerani.
Biography[]
Matteo Fosco was born in Florence, Republic of Florence in 1431, and he was an acquaintance of Giovanni Auditore da Firenze. In 1476, Auditore had his son Ezio Auditore da Firenze deliver a letter to Fosco, and Auditore met Fosco and his courtesan companion, Odetta Gallerani. Fosco urged Ezio to come closer and give him the letter, saying that he was not contagious, although jokingly said that he was not so sure about his partner. Fosco met Auditore one last time when Giovanni and the other males of Ezio's immediate family were hanged, and he urged Ezio to run away, and to run fast; he was not seen again by Ezio.
