Matt Freeman (30 August 1923-2013) was a US Army private who served in the 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division during World War II under the command of Gregory Moody.
Early life[]
Matt Freeman was born in Dakota, USA on August 30, 1923. A patriotic upbringing in the family prompted him to join the paratroopers. In 1942, he met Michael Gordon in the Takoa camp.
Battle of the Bulge[]
On January 13, 1945, Freeman, with his friend Gordon and other paratroopers, cleared the intersection and, despite the strong resistance of the Germans, they succeeded. After the war, he returned to the states and communicated with Gordon. Freeman died at a ripe old age in 2013.
