Matsudaira Sadayasu (5 May 1835 – 1 December 1882), also known as Yuki Sadayasu, was a Japanese nobleman and the daimyo of the Matsue Domain of Izumo Province from 1853 to 1871, succeeding Matsudaira Naritoki.
Biography[]
Matsudaira Sadayasu was the seventh son of Matsudaira Naritaka of the Tsuyama Domain, and he was adopted by the lord of the Matsue Domain, Matsudaira Naritoki before succeeding his adoptive father as lord on his father's abdication in 1853. For much of the Bakumatsu period, Matsudaira supported the Tokugawa Shogunate, but he sided with Emperor Meiji during the Boshin War. His domain - along with all of the other feudal baronies of Japan - was abolished in 1871, and he retired from the family headship in 1872. On his son Matsudaira Naotaka's retirement in 1877, Sadayasu resumed the headship until his death in 1882.
