Matsuba-kai

The Matsuba-kai is a Japanese yakuza organization based in Tokyo. Founded in 1953 as the successor to Masaru Sekine's Sekine-gumi bakuto gang, the original gang was nearly destroyed by the American occupation regime in 1947 before being refounded in 1953. The Matsuba-kai became part of a federation called the "Kanto Hatsuka-kai" alongside the Sumiyoshi-kai, Inagawa-kai, Toa-kai, and Soai-kai, and it engaged in a violent feud against the Kyokuto-kai during the 2000s.
