The Matilda II was a medium tank built by the United Kingdom from 1939 to 1945 during World War II. The Matilda was the only British Army tank to see action throughout the whole war, and it was known for its great armor but lighter speed and armament. In 1941, the Valentine tank replaced the Matilda on the front lines, but the Matilda was widely-used in the North African Campaign.
