The Masovian Voivodeship was founded on 1 January 1999 as a reform of the government of Poland, with a population of 5,160,000 people and its capital at the Polish capital of Warsaw. Other major cities are Radom, Plock, Siedlce, and Ostroleka. Mazovia is the largest and most-populous of the 16 voivodeships of Poland, and is an important center of the Polish people.
