The Masjid al-Umar was a mosque built in 1192 in the town of Qaryat al-Rashid in present-day Israel under the rule of the Ayyubid Caliphate.
History[]
The Masjid al-Umar mosque was built in 1192 as the place of worship for the town of Qaryat al-Rashid, and it was later expanded to include an Islamic university. It was built under the Saracens of the Ayyubid Caliphate, but its appearance was eclipsed by the Great Mosques of Qaryat al-Rashid, a pair of wonders built as a shining example of the power of Islam.
