Masashige Kano was a Field Marshal of the Imperial Japanese Army who commanded the Imperial General HQ. In this position, he was responsible for commanding the North Japan Army (led by Hanada), Central Japan Army (led by Iwane Matsui), West Japan Army (led by Hajime Sugiyama, and the East Japan Army (led by Yoshijiro Umezu).
