Masahiro Chono

Masahiro "Masa" Chono (17 September 1963-) is a Japanese-American professional wrestler who led the "color gangs" of Kabukicho, Tokyo during the 2000s.

Biography[]

Masahiro Chono was born in Seattle, Washington, United States on 17 September 1963, and he made his professional wrestling debut in 1984 in Saitama, Japan alongside Keiji Mutoh. He competed in professional wrestling for 26 years and adopted a yakuza gimmick in 1994; back in Japan, he also emerged as leader of the "color gangs" of Kabukicho, Tokyo, which served as muscle for Mutoh's "Mutoh Realty" company. In 2006, his muscle failed to take over the Kabukicho Hills construction site from Goro Majima's construction company due to Kazuma Kiryu's intervention, so Mutoh decided to involve the "Three Musketeers" in the conflict. Chono later betrayed Mutoh with the help of Mutoh's secretary Tsurukawa, only for Chono to be defeated by Majima Construction and convinced to join them.
