Mary of Teck (26 May 1867 – 24 March 1953) was Queen of the United Kingdom from 6 May 1910 to 20 January 1936 with King George V of Britain. She was the mother of the British monarchs Edward VIII of Britain and George VI of Britain.

Mary of Teck was born in Kensington Palace, London, England on 26 May 1867, the daughter of Francis, Duke of Teck and Mary Adelaide of Cambridge. She was technically a princess of Teck in Wurttemberg, but she was born and raised in England, and she was supposed to marry Prince Albert Victor (son of Prince Albert Edward of Wales), but he suddenly died in 1892. She then married Albert Victor's surviving brother George, who became "King George V of Britain" in 1910, with Mary serving as queen consort. She supported her husband through World War I, and she became queen mother in 1936 after her husband's death and the accession of her son Edward VIII of Britain to the throne. Her second son, Albert, became "King George VI of Britain" when Edward abdicated in order to marry the American socialite Wallis Simpson, and she was the matriarch of the British royal family until her death in 1953.
