Marty Nothstein

Martin Wayne "Marty" Nothstein (10 February 1971-) was an American professional bicyclist and Republican political candidate. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Nothstein made his international cycling debut in 1989 and won a silver medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and gold at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, each for sprint cycling. He retired from cycling in 2006 and became executive director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in the Lehigh Valley, and he ran for the US House of Representatives in 2018 as a Republican. He was defeated by the Democrat Susan Wild in the PA-7 general election, receiving 43.5% of the vote. He was also defeated in his bid for Charlie Dent's vacant PA-18 seat.
