Martin de Lambert was a French privateer during the mid-16th century.

Biography[]

Martin de Lambert was an experienced pirate for several years, taking several tigers and zebras as exotic pets; in 1560, he gifted a tiger to Mary, Queen of Scots while visiting the French court. Mary sought to hire him to plunder other nation's ships in orrder to enrich resource-poor France, and he demanded 50% of the profits, a small castle in Cologne, and the hand of Lady Greer Norwood in marriage. He impregnated Greer after a one-night stand, and he later gave his daughter Rose to his sister.
