Marston Waters was a large ranch located in Western Australia, Australia during the late 19th century. It was founded by the powerful landowner Elliott Marston, and it was operated mostly by Irish convict laborers. In 1880, the ranch was the site of a major shootout between the American hired gun Matthew Quigley and Marston and his last employees, resulting in the deaths of Marston and the last of his men. The British Army Major Ashley Pitt led a mounted detachment to arrest and hang Quigley for the crimes committed during his vendetta, but the British were forced to retreat after a large forces of Aborigines surrounded them.
