
Marshall Frank Moore (12 February 1829-26 February 1870) was the Republican Governor of the Washington Territory from 26 August 1867 to 5 April 1869, succeeding George Edward Cole and preceding Alvan Flanders.
Biography[]
Marshall Frank Moore was born in Binghamton, New York in 1829, and he served as a state judge and prosecuting attorney in Sioux City, Iowa before serving in the Union Army during the American Civil War and commanding the 69th Ohio Infantry Regiment and various brigades; he ended the war as a Major-General. Moore went on to serve as Governor of the Washington Territory from 1867 to 1869, and he later became an attorney in New Orleans before dying in Olympia, Washington in 1870.
