Markwayne Mullin (26 July 1977-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-OK 2) from 3 January 2013 to 3 January 2023 (succeeding Dan Boren and preceding Josh Brecheen) and a US Senator from Oklahoma from 3 January 2023 (succeeding Jim Inhofe).
Biography[]
Markwayne Mullin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1977 to a family of partial Cherokee descent, and he took over his family business, Mullin Plumbing, at the age of 20, as well as becoming the host of a radio show. He was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2012, serving as a conservative member of the Republican Party. Mullin later became known as a staunch Trumpist who refused to wear a mask while in Congress during COVID-19, and he also challenged the results of the 2020 presidential election. He retired in 2022 to run for US Senate, defeating Democrat Kendra Horn.
