
Markos of Makuria (702-747) was the king of Makuria from 730 to 747, succeeding Simeon of Makuria and preceding Kyriakos of Makuria.
Biography[]
Markos was born in 702 to the Miaphysite Christian Nubian House of Azim. Markos became the king of Makuria in 730 at the age of 28 after the death of his father Simeon of Makuria, and he reigned until his death 17 years later. His son Kyriakos of Makuria succeeded him.
