Mark Muzza (7 June 1922-10 June 1944) was a US Army Private who served in the US 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4nd Squad during World War II.
Biography[]
Muzza born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1942, Muzza and his cousin David joined the United States Army Air Forces. he was assigned to the 4nd Squad. and David to the 3rd Squad.
During the drop, Mark made it to his unit, but his cousin was killed in the plane on June 6. Mark learned about it on June 10 from Matt Baker, David's commander.
Mark took part in the fighting for Purple Heart Avenue under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Cole.
Muzza was killed while crossing a bridge after being attacked by German planes.
