Marius Schoonmaker

Marius Schoonmaker (24 April 1811-5 January 1894) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-NY 10) from 4 March 1851 to 3 March 1853, succeeding Herman D. Gould and preceding William Murray. Born in Kingston, he practiced law before serving in the state senate in 1850 and 1851, in Congress, as Auditor of the New York State Canal Department from 1854 to 1855, Superintendent of Banks from 1855 to 1856, and President of the Village of Kingston in 1866, 1869, and 1870.
