Maria Skuratova-Belskaya (1552-20 June 1605) was Tsaritsa of Russia from 11 February 1598 to 10 June 1605 as the wife of Tsar Boris Godunov.
Biography[]
Maria Skuratova-Belskaya was born in 1552, the daughter of Tsar Ivan the Terrible's favorite, Malyuta Skuratov. She married Boris Godunov in 1570, and she became Tsaritsa in 1598. In 1605, on her husband's death, she became regent for her young son Feodor II of Russia. However, both of them were strangled in their apartments by boyars loyal to False Dmitry I.
