Maria "Tata" Henao (1961-) as the wife of Medellin Cartel boss Pablo Escobar.
Biography[]
Maria Henao was born in 1961, and she met Pablo Escobar when she was only thirteen; Escobar was 24 years old. The two began dating immediately, and they married two years later in 1976, with Pablo affectionately calling her "Tata". Henao was adored by her husband, and she returned this affection despite her husband's extravagant lifestyle as a criminal and his involvement with numerous mistresses, including the arrogant journalist Valeria Velez; Escobar was enraged when Velez asked him if he had sex with his wife the same way as he did with her, telling her never to disrespect his wife. Henao was faithful to her husband, and they had two children: Juan Pablo and Manuela. The family moved around many times, as the Colombian government was constantly searching for Escobar during the late 1980s after he assassinated Minister of Justice Rodrigo Lara and effectively declared war on the incorruptible elements of society. She remained married to him until his death at the hands of Search Bloc in 1993, and Henao and her children moved to Argentina in 1995, with Henao changing her name to "Maria Isabel Santos Caballero".
