
Maria Clementina of Austria (24 April 1777-15 November 1801) was the Princess of the Kingdom of Naples. She was the daughter of Duke Leopold I of Tuscany and Maria Luisa of Spain, granddaughter of Maria Theresa of Austria and Charles III of Spain, wife of Francis I of Naples & Sicily, and mother of Marie-Caroline of Sicily.
Biography[]
Maria Clementina was the daughter of Leopold I of Tuscany and Maria Luisa of Spain, born in Villa del Poggio Imperiale in Tuscany (present-day northern Italy). She was the granddaughter of Maria Theresa of Austria and Charles III of Spain on her paternal and maternal sides, respectively. In 1790 she married Francis of Naples, the hereditary prince of the kingdom under King Ferdinando IV of Naples. She died of smallpox in 1801, a popular woman in the country.
