Marcel Serret

Marcel Serret (25 November 1867-6 January 1916) was a French Army general de brigade who was killed in action during World War I.

Biography[]

Marcel Serret was born in Bleneau, Yonne, France in 1867, and he graduated from Saint-Cyr in 1887 and joined the French Army, serving as a military attaché to Germany in 1912. During World War I, Serret returned from Berlin to serve as a brigadier-general on the Vosges front, and he was injured in the knee at the Hartmannswillerkopf on 28 December 1915 and died of his wounds on 6 January 1916.
