Marat Kulakhmetov (born 1959) was a Major-General of the Russian Army during the Russo-Georgian War.
Biography[]
Marat Kulakhmetov was born in 1959 in Penza, Penza Oblast, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union to a family of Volga Tatars. He graduated from the Frunze Military Academy in 1991 and was given command of the Combined Peacekeeping Forces in South Ossetia, assisting South Ossetian separatists during the Russo-Georgian War.
