
Manius Julius (280 BC-) was a general of the Roman Republic.
Biography[]
Manius Julius was born in 280 BC in the city of Segesta (present-day Sestri Levante, Province of Genoa, Italy), the son of Vibius Julius. He became a general of the Roman Republic and the House of Julii upon coming of age in 264 BC a confident attacker, although he was financially irregular. Manius was entrusted with the campaign against the Illyrians, conquering Segestica in 260 BC and Salona in 257 BC before taking part in the campaign against Macedon.
