Biography[]
Manik was a war leader of the Mayans who served as the governor of Chichen Itza, the capital of the Mayan civilization. In 1542, Spanish conquistador Francisco de Montejo used cannon to conquer the city, and the weak and disabled Manik was killed along with 13,554 civilians and 6,880 warriors.
