Biography[]
Mamoru Takabe was born in Yokohama, Japan, and he became a member of Isezakicho's Seiryu-kai yakuza clan. He rose to the rank of captain after the expulsion of his rival Yamato Totsuka, who had twice forced him to commit yubitsume, in 2019. He oversaw the shutting down of Totsuka's Sunlight Castle pension and healthcare scam and, after Yokohama Liumang strategist Akira Mabuchi killed two of his friends, Takabe was also entrusted with leading a massive retaliatory attack against the Liumang at the Qing Jin restaurant. Ichiban Kasuga, aware that Mabuchi wanted to manufacture a war as a steppingstone to an Omi Alliance invasion, interceded, and he was forced to beat down Takabe and his men before they could attempt to kill Liumang leader Tianyou Zhao. Takabe was kept as a prisoner of the Liumang until the Geomijul intelligence network proved to Zhao that Mabuchi had betrayed him. Takabe, released, battled a rebellion by Seiryu-kai members who were dismayed at their leader's closeness to Zhao. When the Tokyo Omi Alliance assaulted the Seiryu Clan's headquarters, Takabe was shot in the chest and leg, while his boss was killed. Takabe survived his injuries and became the new chairman of the Seiryu-kai. He was imprisoned for a subordinate's crime in 2021 and was stabbed by an assailant just before his clan's dissolution in 2023, enabling Masataka Ebina to take over as acting chairman.
