Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church

The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is an autocephalous Miaphysite Christian church in Kerala, India, founded in 52 AD by Thomas the Apostle. It was affiliated with the Nestorian church from 496 to 1599, but western interferences led to splits in the original Christian community established by Thomas. The church came to have 2.5 million members by the 2010s.
