Maksim Nesterenko was a colonel of the Zaporizhian Host and a vassal of the Cossack Hetmanate who participated in the Khmelnytsky Uprising during the 1650s. He was captured at the Battle of Piaski in 1655 and released after the Cossacks made peace with the Poles.
