Mahmoud Wagdy (born 23 March 1948) was Interior Minister of Egypt from 31 January to 5 March 2011, succeeding Habib el-Adly and preceding Mansour el-Essawy.
Biography[]
Mahmoud Wagdy was born in Koum Hamada, Beheira Governorate, Egypt in 1948. He graduated from the police academy in 1968 and became head of Cairo's criminal investigations department and head of prisons. He briefly served as Hosni Mubarak's Interior Minister amid the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 before being replaced by Mansour al-Essawy.
