Maher Muhammad Imad Asheikh was a Palestinian Hamas terrorist. The son of Palestinian Preventive Security chief Abu Maher and his Jordanian wife, he secretly became involved with Abu Seif al-Makdasi's cell of Hamas student-terrorists who took Hebrew-language classes at Birzeit University in preparation for terrorist attacks. He struggled with evading his father's suspicions, explaining his mysterious activities by claiming that he had been seeing a girl in secret. He was arrested in the roundup of ISIL terrorists after the Nablus barbershop raid, and his father embraced his son and told him that his son had shamed him and the whole family, before handing him over to the Israelis. Shin Bet captain Gabi Ayub handed Asheikh over to the Jordanians after Asheikh revealed that Makdasi was planning a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv.
