Maerleswein Thatcher (833-February 868) was an Anglo-Saxon brigand who lived in York during the 9th century AD. In February 868, he and a band of brigands attacked Bjorn Tall-Trunks as he entered the city, and, after Bjorn killed all of them, he found a purse of money, possibly from one of their recent victims, but also possibly from a man who had hired them to kill Bjorn.
