
Madani Mezrag () was a politician of Algeria who was a leader of the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) and the Front for Reconciliation and Salvation party.
Biography[]
Madani Mezrag was born in Algeria to a family of Sunni Muslim Berbers, and he became a member of the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) political party that was allowed to run for office in 1992. He became the leader of the AIS, the armed wing of the FIS, during the Algerian Civil War and became one of the major rebel leaders in the uprising. On 27 August 2015 he founded the Front for Reconciliation and Salvation in a meeting attended by 1,000 delegates from all over Algeria.
