Macomb's End

Macomb's End was a small settlement along the Ouachita River of Louisiana, located near Modeste in Ascension Parish. Located down the Ouachita River from Lagras, it was home to a fishing village inhabited mostly by white people, and, in 1898, the local white fishermen stole a boat from the African-American skiff captain Thomas Coleman and brought it back to their dock. Coleman responded by paying the Arizona Kid to steal back the boat from Mcaomb's End, and Arizona stealthily swam to the boat and rowed it back to Lagras without firing a shot or laying a hand on any of the white fishermen, even as they shot at him and attempted to chase him.
