The Macina Liberation Front (MLF) was a militant Islamist group in Mali that was active from January 2015 to March 2017. The group was founded by ethnic Fulani veterans of the Malian Civil War, and it sought to revive the Massina Empire of central Mali. The group attacked United Nations peacekeepers, French troops, Malian government forces, and civilians, and it merged into Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin in 2017.
