Mac Miller

Malcolm James McCormick (19 January 1992-7 September 2018), known professionally as Mac Miller, was an American rapper, singer, and record producer.

Biography[]

Malcom James McCormick was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1992, the son of a Christian father and a Jewish mother; he was raised in his mother's Jewish faith. He started rapping at the age of fourteen, and his original rap name was "EZ Mac"; he released his first mixtape at the age of fifteen in 2007. In 2010, he signed with Rostrum Records, and he embarked on a highly successful tour that same year. He released his debut album Blue Slide Park in 2011, and he launched REMember Music in early 2013, releasing his second album Watching Movies with the Sound Off that same year. In October 2014, he signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records, and he also became a record producer. In May 2018, he was arrested after crashing into and knocking down a power pole while driving under the influence before driving away; he was released on $15,000 bail. He died of a drug overdose at his Los Angeles home in 2018.
