Mac Bethad of Forais

Mac Bethad of Forais (846-882) was a Scottish nobleman from Fortriu who, in 882, led a rebellion against King Aed mac Cinaeda of Scotland in Forais (Forres), Moray. He opposed the annexation of Fortriu by the Picts and assembled a significant army at Forais, but his uprising was crushed by Domnall mac Causantin, the former King of Fortriu, at the Battle of Forais.
