The M60 Patton is a main battle tank of the US Army that entered service in 1960. The Patton tank became the United States' primary Cold War-era tank, and the tank was updated several times during the course of the period. The Patton was exported to the USA's NATO allies in Western Europe and the rest of the world during the war, and, in 2016, Egypt owned 1,716 M60s, Turkey 866 tanks, and Israel over 700. Over 15,000 have been produced since the 1960s.
