The M2 Rhino is an American main battle tank deployed primarily in southern California alongside M1 Abrams, with the highest concentration of Rhinos being stored at Fort Zancudo. The M2 Rhino possesses a 120mm cannon with armor that can absorb several missile launcher shots. Uniquely to the Rhino, only one crew member is necessary to operate the tank, as the driver can operate the cannon and drive at the same time.
The Rhino was deployed by the US Army and Marine Corps only a few times, one being the 2013 Blaine County Savings Bank heist in Paleto Bay, California, where they were used ineffectively against the robbers. A few also were deployed when Trevor Philips engaged the military at the southern entrance to Fort Zancudo, with one being stolen by Philips and used against them. Also, in a surprising move, the Rhino was available for sale to the civilian market, which enabled it to be utilized by criminals in the Los Angeles and Blaine County area.
