The M24 Chaffee was a light tank built by the United States from 1944 to 1953 during World War II and the Korean War. It was named for General Adna R. Chaffee, Jr., who developed tanks for use in the US Army, and the tank was given to US allies, seeing action in other conflicts such as the First Indochina War, Vietnam War, Algerian War, and Bangladesh Liberation War.
