Lyman Bloomingdale (11 February 1841-13 October 1905) was an American businessman and the co-founder of the department store chain Bloomingdale's, founded in 1872. Born in New York City to German-Jewish immigrant parents, he served in the Union Army during the American Civil War and was an active member of New York's Republican Club and several philanthropic societies. He died in 1905.
