
Ly Tong Ba (1931-22 February 2015) was a Brigadier-General of the South Vietnamese ARVN during the Vietnam War.
Biography[]
Ly Tong Ba was born in French Indochina in 1931, and he joined the ARVN after South Vietnam gained its independence. He fought at the Battle of Ap Bac as a Captain, but he refused to commit to the battle due to his superiors' order to stay put; he later commanded the ARVN 7th Division during Operation Lam Son II. In September 1964, he supported Duong Van Duc's coup attempt, and he successfully defended Kontum as commander of the ARVN 23rd Division during the 1972 Easter Offensive. As the war came to a close, Ly emigrated to the United States, and he died in Las Vegas in 2015.
