Luther Coleman (1873-1936) was an African-American grifter from Joliet, Illinois in the early 20th Century.
Biography[]
Luther Coleman was born in 1873 in Joliet. Coleman married Alva Coleman in 1893 and having one daughter called Louise Coleman. In the decade of 1920, he worked with Henry Gondorff as grifters. In 1936, Luther Coleman worked with Johnny Hooker and Joe Erie but they conned a member of Doyle Lonnegan's gang. That night Luther Coleman was killed by being thown away out the window.
