Lusatia is a region of eastern Germany between the Elbe River valley to the west and the Bobr and Kwisa rivers to the east, along the Oder-Neisse Line. The northern border of historical Lusatia runs through the area of Berlin, capital of Germany, south of the city centre.
Its name comes from the Sorbian word luzicy, meaning "swamps", and the region is now a part of Germany's Saxony and Brandenburg regions and Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship and Lubudz Voivodeship.
