Luis Otero Cifuentes (1946-6 November 1985) was one of the founders of M-19.
Biography[]
Luis Otero Cifuentes was born in 1946 in Cali, Colombia, and he fought alongside Fidel Castro in the Escambray Rebellion during the Cuban Revolution while a member of the Communist Youth. Otero went on to help in the 1973 formation of M-19, and he took part in the 1980 hostage-taking at the Dominican Republic embassy in Bogota and the 1985 Palace of Justice siege. He was killed by the Colombian Army when they stormed the palace on 6 November 1985.
