Luis Fernando Escobar Gaviria (1958-1977) was the younger brother of Pablo Escobar.
Biography[]
Luis Fernando Escobar Gaviria was born in Rionegro, Colombia in 1958, the son of Abel de Jesus Escobar Echeverri and Hermilda Gaviria Berrio; he was the younger brother of Pablo Escobar and Roberto de Jesus Escobar Gaviria. Luis Fernando was not involved with his brothers' business, and he instead focused on getting an education. In 1977, however, Luis Fernando and his girlfriend Viviana were accosted one night by undercover policeman Eliecer, who had previously been assigned to infiltrate Pablo's organization. Eliecer had been removed from the case due to his failure to acquire meaningful information, and he drunkenly forced Luis Fernando and his wife into their new jeep, interrupting a romantic moment between the two. Eliecer proceeded to drive the car off the cliff, and all three passengers were killed in the ensuing explosion.
