
Luis Alberto Cabrales (1901-1974) was a Nicaraguan essayist, journalist and pedagogue.
Biography[]
He was born on December 2, 1901 in the department of Chinandega, Nicaragua. He studied at the Pedagogical Institute of Managua. He also studied Political Science in France, soaked in European culture he returned to Nicaragua. Author of a brief but intense lyrical production in which stands out the purity of his religious feelings and the desire to bring the language of poetry to the people, he is considered one of the initiators in Nicaragua of the avant-garde currents that tried to overcome the powerful influence exerted by the work and the figure of Rubén Darío. He had an extreme right-wing ideology and his poetic work is very brief. He died in Managua in 1974.
